1. Tiffany and Co. to create $50K diamond necklaces for 250 Cryptopunks holders
That’s right…legendary jeweler Tiffany dropped “NFTiff”, an exclusive collection of 250 passes that may be minted and redeemed by Cryptopunks holders for 30ETH (~$50K).
Each pass entitles the minter to a necklace with at least 30 gems (including diamonds, sapphires, amethysts, etc.) and an NFT of the digital artwork render for the final piece.
While absurd on the surface, this is the tip of the iceberg for how advertising might work in a web3 future. Tiffany wanted to target customers that were most likely in their target demo (ultra-rich that could blow $50K on a pixelated character necklace in the midst of a global recession) and used the Cryptopunk holders (exactly that target demo) to enter the NFT space.

2. Nike AR/VR/NFT patent reveals interesting future use cases for digital footwear, wearables, and virtual reality.
In late Dec. 2021, Nike shocked the world by acquiring digital wearables company, RTFKT.
Since then, RTFKT has been busy manifesting a web3 future for footwear. In the spring, RTFKT dropped the CryptoKick. These were the first ever digital wearable from Nike and had dynamic properties, meaning their designs could be updated and upgraded with plug-in “skin vials”.
Nike’s patent also referenced use cases like:
AR POAPs - users at sporting events may be able to hunt for a scannable CryptoKick to unlock a custom skin for that game/team
Collabokicks - it may be possible to breed two different kick designs to morph into a third
Genetics - Genes or traits coded to the shoe could change/evolve overtime as the shoe is used (e.g., the strain/heat gene gets more resistant as the wearer runs with the shoes, etc.)

3. Jose Cuervo launches tequila-fueled adventure in Vegas City District of the metaverse?
Metaverse schmetaverse, amirite?
Apparently the fine folks at Jose Cuervo don’t think so. They opened up a “Metadistillery” in the Vegas city district of Decentraland, one of the world’s biggest virtual worlds.
During the week, fans could compete in contests to win Decentraland wearables, Jose Cuervo merch, and other NFTs.
