If you’ve been following the sundaydrip journey, you know that we have been experimenting a lot with different content formats and have really hit our groove with our daily YouTube show, Cryptoland.
We realized that there is still a need to provide quick hit, high value content at the intersection of culture and crypto. Nobody is serving this niche well, and to be honest, we think this is where some of the most important use case and user experience innovation will come from over the next few years.
So we went back to the lab and invented a new newsletter format that we think you’re going to like.
Introducing…Espresso by sundaydrip
As we thought through how to evolve the newsletter, these were the things we wanted to be true:
Takes less than 2 minutes to read
Only includes things you’ll actually care about
Gives your curiosity a shot of adrenaline every time you read it
Stays focused on the intersection of culture (e.g., fashion, music, sports, brand, lifestyle) and crypto
Delivered only when there’s information worth sharing
Espresso will be a simple collection of espresso shots, which are short blurbs about the most important stories happening at the intersection of culture and crypto.
You’ll see a link for each story to the source article which will let you dive in further and can watch Cryptoland to see our deeper takes on each topic throughout the week.

1. Coachella is hiring web3 related roles for their Innovation team
Coachella is one of the most “tech-forward” music festivals and showed their willingness to experiment during the 2022 season by partnering with FTX to release the In Bloom NFT (every attendee could download FTX and claim a bloom NFT. A few rare versions of the NFT gave free Coachella access for life to winners).
My guess is that this trend towards tech enablement, NFT-gated experiences and the integration between physical x digital will continue in a big way. The team is looking for “concept artists and designers, 3D artists, and world builders”.

2. RTFKT (digital collectibles company acquired by Nike in Dec 2021), drops first true physical meets digital hoodie
RTFKT has been called a “tastemaker of the metaverse” by many. Think of them as a Supreme-like brand that pioneers new tech and drops in digital collectibles and wearables.
Their latest drop is this black hoodie. Buyers get both a physical and digital NFT versions of the hoodie. Each hoodie has an NFC (near field communication) in it which means when viewed through augmented reality goggles, different things can happen, like the wings emerging from the back.
In my opinion, the actual design of the hoodie is meh but the potential dynamic nature with AR technology is super interesting.

3. Lacoste dropping NFT collection “Undw3” (underwater) that gives owners influence in future clothing designs
Lacoste has been relatively quiet with respect to web3 and NFT experimentation up to this point. This new collection, dubbed “underwater” will have 11,212 pieces sold at .08ETH.
This project will allow holders to collaborate with Lacoste overtime in helping them design the future. This is more of a unique angle for mainstream fashion brands experimenting within web3.
